Moon Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Moon Handbooks)

I can read Fodor's guides without trouble, but this Moon guide is tough. Some of the print is only about 6 font, so I would need a magnifying glass. On the plus side, nice content, nice maps.

I visit the UP as often as I can. The author really knows his stuff. Very accurate and helpful. Found many new places to explore. I have always trusted Moon books. They are very good.

Served my purposes well. As a first time visitor to the UP, I was looking for tourist attractions, hiking opportunities, nautical history, lighthouses, and waterfalls. All were covered here. My husband left the book behind in our hotel on the second night of our trip, and we purchased it a second time!

Bought this book to accompany us on our trip into the upper Peninsula, it was very informative and helpful in the planning of where we where going to stop, we will use it again on our next trip because we ran out of time to see all that was in it

We toured the UP using this book and it was super convenient to have in the car and plan spontaneous trips.

Great summary book. It told us what we needed to know to plan a trip -- why to go to a particular locale, and what to do once one is there. Based on its descriptions, we will be visitng Munising for a week, and knew that the attractions in the area (picture rocks, wrecks, kayaking, waterfalls) will be more than sufficient to keep us entertained. It provided the framework to supplement with online research (found a cabin convenient to what we wanted to do), and then we followed it up with more detailed references (gentle hikes, and Michigan waterfalls books) to find a few things this guide was too general to find. This book fit perfectly as our starting point reference for how we like to plan vacations.

Lots of maps, pictures and details. Perfect for that road trip to Upper Michigan.

This was an excellent book, full of lots of relevant information about the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I found lots of information along with tips on what to see and do and where to stay in that part of Michigan. Information on this area was otherwise hard to find.
