Excellent entry level package
***Using on PS3 and PS4, paired with Turtle Beach DSS. Microphone was not used for online gaming, so it will not be mention any further. The following is my personal opinion (not an expert, just an avid gamer) on the Kingston Technology HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset based on using them for online and offline gaming, and my experience with other headsets I own or tried (Sennheiser PC360, HD 595, Turtle Beach PX5, Tritton 720, Astros A40, A50, Beyerdynamic mmx 300, PS Pulse Elite, among others). There is very little to dislike about the package offered in this headset, since at around $99 one gets all the goodies other companies are no longer including with their headsets while keeping a high quality look and feel on every piece. Be aware of what you want from the headset experience and this package may be just right for you.PROS+Extreme comfort, is impossible to describe. I use glasses and never felt discomfort. Also pleasantly light weight+high quality packaging, easy to open and access the accessories+Plenty of accessories, for example there is a cable with a controller on it that serves as an extension and a separate extension cable without the controller. This may offer all the accessories one may need for this or any other pair of headphones since is all in standard 3.5mm connections. Carrying soft bag is a nice touch.+good quality construction, aluminum headband is really great (reminds me of Beyerdynamic, and it is so because this headset uses Beyerdynamic technology)+Good sound, excellent isolation from outside noise. The closed designed is hit and miss, is a preference thing. At their core this headsets sound really good+lots of bang for the buckCONS-at its widest, the headset opens just enough for my head. I use L/XL caps so I'm not small headed, but this is one of the few times a headset does not open wider than I need.Neutral/Wishful thinking~as good as they sound, they are not fooling anyone these are not audiophile grade. They are not advertised as audiophile so is not a problem. But I like everything about them a lot, and the lack of an audiophile option is a downer (would be more expensive, that is why the Beyerdynamic MMX300 on a whole other league)Final ThoughtsWhat drove me towards this headset was the similarity in design with Beyerdynamic and the good reviews I have seen around the web. I got to say that this product delivers on all fronts as an ENTRY level headset. For the price they are hard to beat, all the accessories included and high quality makes this a winner. For those looking for a more refined experience, don't stop here. There are simply better options (more expensive by the way) out there. Look at Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic for the top of the line, Astro for the package of mixamp and headset, Turtle Beach for the customization options etc. However if one gets this headset and stops here, is ok as long as it fulfills the needs of the user. For comparisons sake let's take a look at the sound quality. Sometime when Im using the A40 or HD595 I get lost in the sound, like I enjoy the sound as much as the game and that adds a layer of immersion to the gaming hobby. I did not get that from the reviewed headset. I got good sound, excellent comfort and great isolation, but once it was all about the game and sound it was as ordinary as listening from the home theater system in the sense that I never got "lost" in the game. This is a personal preference, nothing expert about it.

Great sound and well put together, I definitely recommend!
Full disclosure: this is a review after 6 days of use, if anything major pops up I'll be sure to come back and update it, but thus far I've been extremely pleased!Pros:- They sound great! At first I was unsure, as they sounded off to me, but I think this was either because I needed to get adjusted to them from my old pair (Razer Tiamat 2.2s) or they require a "burn in" period because now they are great. Unlike my old pair which required the use of the EQ "Powerful" I don't have to use an EQ (ymmv depending on personal preferences).- Headset build is definitely quality. These things are very solid and unlike some other pairs I've owned (GameCom 780s I'm looking at you) I'm confident they will withstand the normal amounts of abuse headsets get, especially along the headband.- Holy accessories! As I'm sure you can see in the description and pictures, these come with a load of extra parts (and are boxed quite sexily, I might add). I do use all the wires to run the cord around the back of my PC and up to my desk (the tower sits to my right, previously i would run the cords behind me which would occasionally get caught under my chair). The extra pads are nice, but I like the leather so I won't be switching them unless the leather gets worn.- Microphone is adequate for my needs. It adjusts to be in front of my face and transmits my voice. It's removable which turns out I actually like a lot but does raise a possibility of losing it if you're that kind of person.Cons**:- To the microphone: when not in use, the plug where you put the microphone is covered by a small rubber cap. I can see this being lost very easily but I'm not sure there is a better way to handle it. Be careful!- When I first got them they would cause a small ache on the very top of my head where the headband was resting. Lately I haven't been noticing it so I'm assuming again its just an adjustment period or the headband needs to be stretched by use.- Control box could be better marked. The mic on/off switch is stiff and requires both hands to flip (one to hold the box). The button on the bottom is for play/pausing music but lets be real, you're gaming on a PC you're never going to push that stupid thing.** in regards to the cons, this is really nitpicking stuff and by no means let them dissuade you from buying this headset. I'm really just grasping for straws.Other notes:- The headphone control box is not attached to the headset. Basically there is a 3ft cord on the headset which you can either plug into the control box or your pc's audio and mic port (or the other extension cable). I see it as a positive, if the headset is jerked for any reason it'll unplug there instead of getting jarred out of place and causing a short but that's all in the eye of the buyer.Verdict: If you're shopping around and comparing these to other similarly priced products, stop it and get these. They work great, sound great, look great, and feel great. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and do not regret my purchase one bit. This is an extremely highly rated headset for good reason.
