Truly added a whole new dimension to my nutrition consumption
I saw one of this product on the “food network” while ago. Since than I always wanted to have one, finally by the recommendation from a culinary intern friend I ordered this item on June 08, 2019. After intensive use of this product for last seven weeks during my summer break following observations have made:Pros:• The delivery was quick and ideal. The product arrived within two days of ordering.• This product deals with extremely hot temperature (at least up to 200+ Degrees Fahrenheit on my test) at all the time.• Helps me to process different types of broth and/or gravy like chicken, beef, vegetable and turkey with straining and skimming the fat away. It helps me make a healthy broth and/or gravy quickly and efficiently.• Fast, easy, and proficient way to skimming off the fat from soup instate of using ladle.• Easily remove the fat away from the turkey droppings.• It appears to be well made and very functional.• Easy to cleanup, and dishwasher safe.• The great thing that I love is the bottom valve works perfectly. It doesn’t leak.Cons:• This product is perfectly fine for the daily household use, however if you are looking to use it for a big party, or want to deal with a large amount of gravy/soup you may need to use it multiple time due to it’s size.• Even though overall build quality meets the current industry standard; nevertheless there is always room to improvement. After using this product for several weeks, I am very satisfied with the performance it delivered so far. The real deal about this product for me is that, this is not just another item that holdup a space on my kitchen like a showpiece; this product has a real-life application, and truly added a whole new dimension to my nutrition consumption.

It DOES what it's supposed to do AND does it well!!
I have a fat separator that I found at a state fair. It works great, but it doesn't hold much more than a large soup ladle and I'm always worried someone is going to misplace the trigger after washing it as the trigger is what blocks the fat from going through the ladle. This fat separator is MUCH larger, has measuring cup markings for all different amounts. I've already used it just as a normal measuring cup as well. I make very large pots of soup or stew as well as large turkeys and it seems to take forever to strain enough of the fat out of the broth.I haven't had any problems with this trigger and although it looks flimsy, it's not. The red thumb flap on the handle of the cup has a light spring to keep the hole sealed in the bottom of the container. If I made smaller batches of soup the strainer top of the separator would become more handy. However, the way I use it is to ladle out enough broth to fill the container and then just pull the trigger to open the hole at the bottom to allow the broth to flow out of the container and then I dump the fat. It works very well and it's dishwasher safe!!

Loved it... until a crack appeared across the botton after several useses.
The 4 cup fat strainer worked great as advertised I loved it.But since it is one of those things that you don't use often, it takes a few uses for flaws to show up. And that is just what happened. I had only used it 5 or 6 times when a crack developed across the bottom. Most likely from the heat. Because I had a bad experience with a cheap separator and didn't want a repeat of that, I had been very careful with it, and only hand washed it. There was no rough handling of this one. It is a shame nothing can be done after only 5 or 6 uses. Good Luck to anyone looking for a good one at a fair price

If you need a separator, you’ll love this
Really good product, satisfied customer. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it’s enormous—which is a pro when pouring into the separator from a roasting pan, but a con for storing, dishwasher, etc.—and Because when operating the valve (which works great) to let the jus out to add to a roux, it’s really hard to see where and when to stop so no fat gets out. I don’t want to waste drippings, but equally don’t want to defeat the purpose of using a separator. That said, I recommend.

Can't believe it!
This makes everything so easy. Go to You-Tube and see how waiting for the grease to go to the top before using is important. LOVE it. So, happy I went ahead and got it. I have one of those simple ones but I had to be so careful and one wrong move and there was grease in my pan, this one is carefree. NO KIDDING

Works well.
Does what it is supposed to do very well, better than the spout on the bottom type you turn to pour in my opinion. My only concern is the mechanism. It could have been in better alignment, plus it makes cleaning a little difficult. Also it feels like it is not the most durable thing but I guess time will show. I used it once so far and am happy with it.

Does not work!
This is probably the worst thing I've ever bought on Amazon. Any liquid runs right through the bottom. It's supposed to be an oil separator, how can you put oil in it when it just run straight out the bottom. And then when I tried to use it for pancakes it didn't let the batter pour out fast enough. Don't waste your money!

Disappointed in performance. A HUGE fail.
I had high hopes for this based on reviews. But I am disappointed in this product. The broth kind of spits and sputters instead of running out in a stream like the picture. I have tried different broths and liquids and it just doesn't work like it should. I'm back to using a turkey baster. UPDATE, attempted to use this once more after giving it a good cleaning. The liquid just pored out of the bottom, and I wasn't holding the button down either. Returned and I won't buy another one like this.
