This mortar, which is specific produced for glass blocks, is suitable for use in indoor and outdoor areas. Mortaring is very simple as the mortar can also be used for grouting. QUANTITY: Quantity of mortar required for 1m² and for a joint width of 10 mm: Glass blocks with size 19 x 19 x 8 cm: 30 kg Glass blocks with size 24 x 24 x 8 cm: 25 kg Glass blocks with size 19 x 19 x 10 cm: 37 kg Glass blocks with size 30 x 30 x 10 cm: 20 kg THERMO BLOCK: 45 kg THERMO BLOCK Plus: 50 kg INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please note that the installation of glass blocks must be in compliance with DIN 1051-1. For reasons of safety, we advise to install the glass wall accordingly. Furthermore, the mortar stripe between the first glass block and the wall must be at least 5 cm. Please note to use a specific mortar for the installation of glass blocks. Using other mortars may cause unbeautiful cracks after some time. WHAT DO YOU NEED ELSE FOR MORTARING? Gap spacers (for a regular joint design) Reinforcing Steel (from a size of 1 m² on for stabilisation GLASS BLOCKS WITHOUT MORTARING: For a quick and accurate installation of glass blocks, we advise to use our QUICK-FIX installation system. As result, the glass wall becomes at least as stable as a mortared wall. If using this option, please note that our QUICK-FIX installation system is suited for use in inner areas only. Should installations in outdoor areas be wanted, we advise to use classical mortar.
