Garcinia Cambogia is a small fruit which resembles a small pumpkin. It grows in India and Asia and comes from the Garcinia cambogia tree. For many centuries this fruit and rind, also called Malabar tamarind, has been valued in Southern India. The principal acid of garcinia fruit, hydroxycitrate (HCA), has been shown to curb appetite and inhibit fatty acid synthesis (production) in animal studies. Garcinia Cambogia an extract of the Indian Brindall Berry has been found to dramatically increase the body's ability to convert food into glycogen. It works to slow the production of fat and burns the fat already accumulated. HCA in Garcinia Gambogia is what is believed to inhibit an enzyme called citrate lyase that helps turn excess carbohydrates into fat. By inhibiting this enzyme, it is believed the body instead boosts carbohydrate burning. This results in your cells burning it for energy at a faster rate and reducing fat intake and burning off the fat already on the body.
