Hermell Products Foam Slant with White Polycotton Zippered Cover, 7.5-Inch

I ordered the 24" x 24" x 7 1/2" (maximum height) foam wedge pillow. The manufacturer name on the packaging is Hermell Products, Inc of Bloomfield, CT. The size IS of the dimensions advertised. Other height options listed on the packaging are: 4", 10" and 12". I would recommend that one carefully consider pillow height in light of the medical reason for which you need it, if any. For GERD it seems the 6" to 8" range is advantageous.The foam is firm... as it should be for proper head, neck and upper back support. It is made of a small, open-cell, white foam indicated on the packaging to be polyurethane. It is NOT memory foam and should not be. Directly out of the packaging I could detect virtually NO odor as is reported with many of the wedge pillows. Since I am a new user I have no report to give concerning the durability of the foam. ***Ideally it should not compress significantly with use. Since this is an open-cell foam it will soak up water like a sponge, so I would say it best not to try to wash the foam itself.***I have downgraded my opinion and my initial 5 star rating of this pillow after approximately 4 weeks of use. Where the weight of my upper back rests on the pillow, the foam has severely compressed leaving a "hole". The bottom center thickness has compressed to about 1/2 inch from the thinnest bottom edge upward for about 10" leaving a severe indentation. The effect forces the neck to bend more at this point defeating the whole point of a graduated pillow. This foam apparently just does not have the strength to rebound after regular use.The pillow comes with a removeable, zippable "polycotton" mix cover. This cover is of medium-grade fabric weight. It isn't heavy but certainly is not flimsy. It is probably advisable to purchase an outer pillow case to prevent the supplied cover from becoming heavily soiled or worn.If one has a headboard the pillow will remain where placed. Without one it is possible that it might scoot forward or "squirt" out from under one's head. This pillow is NOT designed for sleeping on one's side. Should you try to do this you might tend to slip downward in the bed leaving the pillow in a position that does not provide the support for which it was purchased. None of the aforementioned problems are the pillow's fault but those of the user.I am currently using a light, thin, down pillow on top of the wedge. Others report using a tubular pillow that supports behind the nape of the neck.I'm extremely pleased with the product. The total price with shipping was about $29 so, compared to many others, it is a good value. Great product, Amazon!

We purchased these pillows to replace ones we had to leave behind when we moved across the country and we were so disappointed with both the pillows and AmericaRx. The pillows themselves are kind of small and flimsy but since they are almost half the (listed) price of our old ones that wasn't totally unexpected, I guess. What made everything so bad for us though was AmericaRx.We got charged twice for shipping, once when they processed our order (including the shipping charge) and again when we received the pillows with postage due on them! Because of my GERD, I really needed some relief right away (and are kind of isolated where we live so no stores sell them near us) so we paid for them. If I'd known how cheap they were in quality though, I would have just kept suffering!We got no response at all from AmericaRx, neither from emails nor from trying to call their phone number. Very frustrating! Unfortunately, we did not check their rating with the BBB before we purchased these pillows... if we had, we would not have bought from them! An expensive lesson learned for us!Don't waste your money. Spend a little more and get wedge pillows that will last and work well. After a few months of use, these pillows are not wearing well at all. I'll probably have to replace them before too long too. Honestly, I will never purchase anything from AmericaRx again. I really feel like they cheated us and took advantage of us since the people who buy these pillows usually have some medical need for them (so we'll pay twice for shipping!).

I purchased this foam slant at the urging of my daughter because I get indigestion alot. At first I didn't know if I was going to like it and didn't like it real well for the first few weeks. The pillow would slide down and cause a crease across my back and many times I would throw the slant onto the floor. Then about three weeks ago I decided to not use a pillo with it and now I actually love it and sleep very well. You can also turn the slant upside down (with the wide edge at the bottom), lean ir against your headboard and you have a great back support for reading or watching TV. I would highly recomming this foam slant. The only drawback is that you can find a pillow case for it. Although it does have a washable cover on it.

I ordered this pillow to prop up my upper body after surgery on my face. Have been using it for a month. It depresses slightly in the middle after that much use but I think a good value for the money. Took a few days to get used to sleeping in this position but after that it seems natural. I put a small rolled wash-cloth under my neck for support because a pillow would tilt head too far forward. Added rolled towels under knees to decrease arch in back. Would recommend.

This wedge pillow is a lot like a piece of concrete under your head!

I have a very bad lower back and spent many sleepless nights and excruciatingly painful mornings until I purchased this wedge. Now to be fair, I also use a body positioner under my knees and a body pillow under my feet. But without this wedge to raise my upper body, I would be back to the horrible pain.This wedge is also great for watching tv and reading in bed. I just love this wedge and would recommend.

My pillow came very quick, ridiculously over packed in a large protective box as if it were breakable. I tend to be a bit squicky about things not being clean enough or needlessly exposed and it came in a high quality, zippered, clear plastic covering. The pillow is professionally covered in a zippered white case and the foam is firm. I would definitely purchase another if I had a need for two.

I bought the bed edge for my Mom. She is staying with me for 30 days and didn't want to bring hers on the airplane. She has suffered from reflux for a while and uses a lower pillow at her house. She loved this one. It is the right size for her. It is not too short and stays in place during sleep. I would recomend this product for sure!!!

This seems to be a good product. It had no obnoxious odor when it arrived, a matter of some importance to me; I was able to use it right away. I find it a bit too short and too low, so what I do is stack pillows and place this one in front of them, so I can lie with my shoulders on the wedge and my head on the stacked pillows. Some reviewers had spoken of limitations in sleeping position. I'm able to sleep in most positions, if I'm willing to take the time to make sure I'm bending from the hip instead of the waist. Some reviewers spoke of the pillow settling down. I've had it for over a month and see only slight settling. I expect it will eventually become too great and I'll have to get a new one, but, as the price is moderate, that's not too bad; I'm hoping to get a year out of it. I'd like to update: it only lasted me five months. It was, however, very comfortable and the freedom from bad odors mattered to me, so I'm only putting it back to three stars.
