This is a combined version of a series of smaller books.I was hoping that with the all-in-one volume that there would be a breed index at the back of the book - there's not.The book is divided up into AKC breed categories.The pictures are great, though not all breeds listed have photos.There are descriptions and fun facts for most breeds.Great as a look-through type book for kids and adults.Needs better referencing (index + pictures of all breeds) in order to be a true encyclopedia even if it is just intended for kids.

My 8 year old goes thru phases and learns as much as he can on new topic. We just finished with learning every dinosaur... now on to dogs!! This was the perfect starter book for him. He reads it to his little sister too. They love the pictures, fun facts, famous dogs, etc. Great book.. learning and having fun. It's a win / win!

My daughter loves it. The only weird part is how the dogs are organized. They are by dog type. It just makes looking for a specific dog hard if you don't know the type.

Very cute children’s book about dogs! I got this for my 9 year old siblings (boy/girl twins) because they love dogs. They were thrilled to be able to learn facts about different breeds! It’s a great book and doesn’t seem cheap at all!

I bought it for my 7 year old grandson who is a dog lover and will be getting a new dog this year. He loved it and I think every adult looked through it. Of coarse in a family of dog lovers what would you expect. Great book.

I got this for my daughter (age 6) when we were considering getting a dog, and it has become her favorite book. She has studied almost every breed and loves reciting the behavior notes. It has even given her confidence to ask people out walking their dogs about their breeds. So fun!

This book was bought as a gift for my grandson. It has very colorful pictures of all breeds of dogs and is pretty informative for children from about age 7 or 8 through the teens. I think even adults would find it interesting. My grandson who just turned 9 loved it & said it was his favorite book ever!

This is a great gift for the little dog lover in your life. In the week that she has had it, my daughter has brought it to me no less than 10 times to show me a dog breed or read me a dog fact.

It's a lovely looking book but it's American (so some of the breed names are different). The main problem here is that it is upsetting/disturbing to see dogs with their ears cropped, cut off! I bought this for my child and I don't want them to think this cruel procedure is acceptable, especially as it is banned in the UK.

Good book for kids. Give good initial information.

I had high expectations about this book and they were confirmed. Nice photos, tons of useful information and curiosities about dogs. What an amazing book! My 7 years old daughter is in love.

Must have read for any dog lover. It covers almost any possible dog breed and contains plenty of useful info about all of them.
