Stens Tiller Tine Shaft, Troy-Bilt GW-1026A, ea, 1 (240-733)

The shaft fit as designed. I used the T-B key for the gear and pressed the gear and bearing on and made new 3/16” keys for tine holders.Hint install right hand seal, after bearings and left side are installed, this leaves room to get the gear meshed with the worm gear.

The shaft I received in Oct of 2021 was in perfect condition with no machining issues. New bearings went on a little tighter than the old ones coming off of the old shaft, but no special tools required to assemble. A great solution for anyone with a damaged tine shaft.

Perfect match to my old one and much cheaper than buying locally.

My old 1976 troy-bilt horse tiller tine shaft had rusted too much to support a new seal. This shaft was machined perfect. Worm gear and bearings fit snug. I used a brass hammer and 1-1/2 PVC pipe to reinstall the gear and both bearings.

This is a great replacement part at a very reasonable price. Although be advised, the shaft I recieved looked identical to my old part but the middle key slot for the bronze gear was not cut deep enough or wide enough. Neither my old key or new key would fit. I ended up grinding my key down to fit the slot (which you shouldnt have to do) and everything assembled perfectly. This is not the sellers fault, rather a manufacturing defect. It may only be my shaft like this or they may all be manufactured this way, who knows. I just think you should know my experience before committing to buying one. I only gave four stars due to this issue because otherwise the part fit wonderfully.

I was in need for an axle for my Troy Bilt Horse, I looked here and was skeptical about buying due to comments posted here.so this is what, I got an axle with all the correct dimension's far as key fitting in its slot and the three slot's being inline like the original. Its all good now.

It worked perfectly. Used on Troy-Bilt Horse tiller.
