The adapter gets very warm when charging your USB-C devices.
This adapter is exactly what was needed to convert my many lightening cables to USB-C connectors for my new iPad mini 6. I am using the keychain on this adapter to attach it to the lightening cable which is very handy. This allows me to use the lightening cable for both USB-C and lightening connections to my devices. The only reason I didn’t give the adapter 5 stars is that it does get quite warm the longer the USB-C device is plugged into it. I don’t know if this is detrimental to the device or not.

Great adapter
This is a great little adapter. The thing I really like about is the way it snaps to your charge wire. It is always there so you do not loose it or misplace it. I have a lot of Apple charge cords for my iPhone and then got a new iPad that uses the usb c so I ordered several of these and has worked out fine.

Final edit: DO NOT BUY, FIRE HAZARD!
FOURTH AND LAST REVIEW: DANGEROUS ADAPTER, FIRE HAZARD, AVOID! Feel free to read through all my reviews. I just burned my finger on this charger when plugging it into my iPad! It is fiery hot! This is absolutely a fire hazard! I’m going to go unplug all of these (I have five) and throw them in the trash! Absolute JUNK, use at your own risk! AMAZON NEEDS TO DISCONTINUE THIS ITEM.(First review, before things began to go wrong) Advantages: relatively fast charging, love the clip to secure them to the cable, convenient and easy to use. Inexpensive, come in a two-pack.(Second review) Huge disadvantage: these last only a couple of months. I need five of them around my house so I just keep replacing them when they die. This doesn’t make me happy but alternatives are much, much more expensive and less convenient for my needs.(Third review) I’m back again today to say that they are only lasting weeks at best. I just keep reducing the stars in my rating. Still can’t find a viable replacement, not even on the Apple website. I’m not about to pay $25 for one single adapter when I need them for the five lightning-tipped cables I have around the house which I use all day for my iPad. So I seem to be stuck with these.

NOT for Fast Charge/Quick Charge 3.0/USB-C PD
Any adapters you see online that look like this are NOT built for high amperage charging. This is strictly for converting a lightning plug into a USB-C plug for lower power devices. That's IT. Unless the description *explicitly* say so, assume that this is for low power charging.I needed one of these for a 5-in-1 USB cable that I got that had too many Lightning plugs I didn't need. I converted one of those lightning plugs into a USB-C plug that I am now using to power a desk fan. These plugs are definitely for niche uses because they are not made for fast power charging. Once you know what you're getting into you'll realize these adapters are great for what they do.

Does exactly what I need it to do...charge my phone.
If you own a phone that has a USB-C charging port, then this is an indispensable adapter. I don't always have my charging cable handy, so I might borrow someone else's charging cable, but so many people have either the micro USB cable or in the case of my GF, an iPhone cable. I have had the micro USB to USB-C adapter for a while, and I finally found this adapter for the IOS cable with what is really important for me---the little attachment loop/hole. I replaced the metal hook and chain with a cord as I found in my experience, that the metal rings and hooks will break the plastic loop/hole when they get twisted in your pocket (or purse). The cord is much more forgiving. Pictured next to a half-dollar coin for size comparison.

Works great..
We all have Lightning cords at this point. With these little gizmos it makes those old cords useable again. With the new iPads today Apple has gone to USB-C connections. Why I don’t know..
