Per Quiko in Germany: Regarding your question about the intensive red, it has not been scientifically proven that the red colouring has any influence on the colour of both species of birds (canaries and parakeets). Well-known breeders of both species were questioned but unfortunately gave unambiguous answers. If it does have an influence it's marginal. However one breeder says it had a little influence and the other not. For sure it doesn't have the same influence which you will have with canaries and hard bills.

I have been using 1 scoop in about 3/4 cups of warm water to help it disolve. A pure guess as you are right, very poor directions. Am getting low but not sure I will reorder it.
