vivid conclusion
The Chronicles are great and I can hardly wait to read them to my granddaughter. This volume brings to a conclusion the series. The language is vivid and the pace is good enough for pre-teen and older. I want to find out for myself how the series "flies" while read to little ones (under 6). The violence is no more than found in other original fairy tales and fables. The characters' inner conflicts and parental struggles are realistic and woven into the story line with skill. I'm a believer in "fairy tales" contributing to healthy child development. If you are too then try this series.

Excellent continuation on a fun story
While I did not like "Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles" as much as I loved "The Spiderwick Chronicles" it still was a great series of books that kept my 10 year old's interest and made him hurry to get ready for bed. Easily had him dropping his iPad when asked if he wanted me to read to him. Great characters, great story, great pictures. Just when you think it is wrapping up a thread, Holly Black drops the spool on you.

good conclusion
I ordered this book for my 10 year old grandson. We enjoy reading aloud to each other and this book was a good conclusion to the Beyond Spiderwick series. The plot was engaging enough for us both and the vocabulary was just about right for him without being to "Mickey Mouse" for me. Even though we know its a fantasy series, we were glad to be living in WNY instead of south FL, in spite of the snow!No possibility of giants and hydras here!

The thing I like most is that I can choose
My grandson loves it. I will be buying the rest of them. The thing I like most is that I can choose, buy the article, pick it out of the post box with two days and it is postage free. Great.

Reveiw
This has been a fantastical journey, we have loved every book in the series, in fact we now have to find something else but don't think it will be anywhere as good as these books. There is nothing we didn't like in the whole series... loved everyone...

A fun end to the trilogy
This book brings together all of the threads from the previous two books to an exciting climax. The writing was a little smoother than the last book, which seemed a little forced at times. This time around, things seem to flow much more naturally. My one complaint is how the children keep surviving against overwhelmingly bad odds. You'd expect someone would suffer fatal consequences sooner or later. But seeing as these are kids' books, perhaps that's excusable. The kids I read it too were a little doubtful of that, but they enjoyed it nonetheless.Without giving away the plot, I can say that there's lots of action, with some surprise heroes and surprise foes. All of the children from this series and the previous series get involved with the action, making for a pretty busy story! The end of the book makes it relatively clear that there won't be more stories about these kids (including the original) but that there are plenty of other "faerie" tales to be told. I think that might be a fresh avenue to take, as these kids are turning from wondering children to jaded faerie veterans. The artwork, as usual, is excellent and abundant, and the level of reading is about right for 8-10 year olds (precocious younger readers, as well as older readers, will also enjoy it). The chapters are a little longer it seems, which makes it a bit tougher to read in small bits, but that's a minor complaint. Overall then, I found this was a fun and fitting end to the series, and I strongly recommend it for fans of Spiderwick, or children's fantasy in general.
