Black Diamond Equipment - Trail Pro Shock Trekking Poles

I purchased these for my parents in law after they tried my pair. They are great, light wight, solid and adjustable.They fit in the suitcase when traveling abroad which is very important.I personally tend to use one or two while hiking, depending on the photography gear that I carry on.

I had to replace my defect Komperdeil poles and this one looked like what I needed. I've used them for hiking and they seem ideal for my needs.

Other than the issue with only shipping 1 pole these poles are well made. Very adjustable to your height and very light. I like them a lot. You should order the rubber boots which go on the bottom of the poles.

I think Black Diamond went the way of corporate profits. The took a pole that was best on the market and completely ruined it. The design of the lower section of these poles is horrendous - instead of a metal solid clamp, the lower portion snaps into place by some flimsy plastic mechanism. It does not actually stay in place and wobbles the entire time. WORST design anyone could come up with and the only reason I can think of they did that is to save money. This pole broke the first day out and I fell and hurt myself because of it. Terrible terrible product and Black Diamond putting corporate profits over people's safety in the outdoors.

Nice and strong, while also feeling light enough. The small amount of shock bumper is enough to feel and I think is worth it for a little hand stress reduction

I do a lot of Nordic walking on sidewalks and other paved surfaces, and my other trekking poles - also Black Diamond, and great for the trails - were producing so much vibration that my wrists and even thumb were beginning to hurt. The Pro Shock Trekking Pole has a sort of air cushion at the first joint of the pole that works beautifully to prevent the vibrations from traveling up the shaft and into your hands and arms. Highly recommended!

I bought it last December, less that 1 year so far. In October, the basket near tip fell off from one pole, somewhere along trail while hiking. It is probably not tightened properly at factory. I have had two pairs of black diamond trekking poles before, all worked fine many years. This one is disappointing.I also like the design of original pro shock with two clamps and red/black strap and red plastic ring for shock absorber. Hope Black Diamond bring it back.
