This is a great watch
I bought this watch to replace a 1987 Seiko chronograph. At first I was a bit leery of the "gray market" warranty, but I came to feel it was a good balance with the reduced price. This watch keeps very good time. Since I bought it in February 2012, it's been off an average of +-1.5 seconds a month. To achieve that level of accuracy, you have to do something not mentioned in the truly terrible manual -- lock down the crown and the pushers. (Unlocked, the watch time seems to drift, gaining as much as +15 seconds a day the first three days I had it. I was concerned that I'd have to send it back.)Once you have the watch locked down (typically, I wear the watch with pushers and crown locked), the alarm will be so soft as to be useless (and having a 12-hour alarm rather than a 24-hour one is really annoying). I re-purposed the alarm dial to show a second time zone (GMT) -- ANOTHER feature not mentioned in the manual.I wish the manual was better, to show all the features I had to find out about by haunting the various watch boards. It's a beautiful watch. The dials are all accurate and sharp, contrast is good, nicely visible in low light. Lume holds up pretty well (most of the night (6 hours I'd guess, though I haven't sat down and timed it), and gradually fades. Each hand of the chronometer returns exactly where it started -- and, yes, I DO know how to offset them from zero if I want to.I especially like the vibrant yellow chrono second hand. I volunteer as a paramedic, and I needed a vivid sweep second hand for timing pulses, respirations, and cardiac functions. It's also a BIG watch, and I like that as well. All in all, this SNA411 from Amazon is a good deal if you're looking for a pilot chronometer at a reasonable price. Don't wait any more. Just buy it. You'll be glad you took the plunge. I am TOTALLY satisfied with this watch.

one of my favorite watches
im a big fan of pilot chronos, and own several at a number of price points, but of them all, i do believe this one is my favorite. it isnt an automatic, and doesnt have the flair of a breitling or omega, but for this watch those are pros and not cons: its a fantastic looking, great wearing, inexpensive watch that i dont have to be afraid to actually wear around town. its more that up to task as a daily-wear watch and never fails to attract attention and compliments, and the E6B and tachymeter are more functional that some of my other watches thanks to the domed crystal that magnifies the tiny scales (im old enough i grew up using a slide rule, and make frequent use of it for day to day calculations).i do recommend replacing the strap though, it is without question the ugliest strap on any of my watches... a nato band in black with a yellow stripe would be my recommendation. i also have a yellow leather strap that looks great on it, but man that nato band makes the watch just POP.

The best watch I've ever seen
I ordered this on May 18, 2012. The estimated delivery date was anywhere between June 15 - July 5, but I received it on June 2 which I was really happy about. The watch looks gorgeous, it is the best watch I have seen and owned so far, can't think of any other watch that looks so majestic and classy, besides the Swiss ones. As soon as I opened it, I went through the manual and tested out the different features. The alarm worked fine. It's a feeble sound, not really that loud to be able to wake you up. I didn't really do much with the slide rule, but I will eventually fiddle with that. Adjusted the hour, second, minute, stopwatch and alarm hands. The little alarm clock at the bottom corresponds and stays parallel to the hour and minute hands at all times, unless the alarm is engaged, the only time it stays still. The second hand is on a separate dial to the left, some people don't like that, but it doesn't really matter as long as it's there and is something different from other watches. There is another minute hand on a separate dial at the top which is for the yellow stopwatch needle, it moves every time the yellow needle completes a full circle(with a nice sweeping motion) to represent the completion of a minute. The yellow stopwatch needle at first looks like the main second hand of the watch until you realize that it's not moving. The dial is black and it's beautiful, definitely much better than the picture here. It has a nice recessed dial with all the letters and numbers very clearly printed. The dial is Hardlex crystal giving it a nice dual reflection of light because of its convex shape. The hour and minute hands are luminous, haven't tested the luminosity in depth, but it's good. The bezel and band are both stainless steel. The band has a nice brushed finish on the edges and a smooth polished glossy finish in the center with a nice secure clasp. Goes great with casuals and formals, guaranteed to get attention. This is the best looking Chronograph, with features to match, in this price range. I should stop, because I could keep writing about this watch.

FIXED: Stopwatch resets incorrectly
Edit: I didn't realize you could manually reset the zero on the stopwatch, and that it can be affected by hard impacts. Watch is great, simply user error.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Good watch, but the stopwatch hands (yellow) do not reset to 12 when zeroed out. The second hand resets to 51 and the minute hand resets to 10, makes it unusable for my purposes. See picture.Army pilot. Bought this as a gift to myself out of flight school to be used for everyday wear and for time-on-target flight planning. When I zero out the yellow stopwatch hands, it's supposed to go to 00:00. Instead, the hands end up at the 10:51 position. What's the point of a chronograph that can't be used to time things? The watch looks really nice, wears well, isn't bulky, and generally isn't hard to use. For the price I at least expected it to do the bare minimum and it didn't really stack up. If I were to purchase again, I'd likely go with a Citizen Navihawk or other flight chronograph.

Great classic watch , now a collectible !
There are two minor points: the alarm is so faint as to be almost useless. The rotating slide rule is very good, has a bunch of quite useful conversion factors on it. but the lettering is so small that I have trouble seeing it. Using it in low light is difficult, due to the small size of the marking.Another thing, the "1" scale mark is NOT in red, contrary to most other similar watches, which makes it somewhat eye-wrecking to set.But these are only minor details - I am extremely satisfied by it.One peculiarity: the chrono buttons have screw-in crowns for waterproofness. That's weird, because if you want to keep full watertightness at all time, you have to unscrew them before using the chrono - and this makes quick use of the chrono function somewhat awkward. But again, I am extremely satisfied by it. I actually bought two (one from here, and one from Amazon.com shipped directly from Japan). And nowadays, because it's not in production, it's actually a collectible piece.

Absolutely First Class!
My husband adores this Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 Chronograph because it served him without fail and, has consistently worked with 100% accuracy. It is a heavy watch, but its stainless steel bracelet is excellent quality that has removable links as standard and I am reviewing this watch this evening because it is, on Amazon here fantastically good value and I doubt it can be bought cheaper. I cannot recall how much my husband paid at the time way back in 2013, but it is still going very well.If you see this watch and have someone special who'd appreciate a watch of this caliber, buy it! Whoever you buy it for will not be disappointed.Seiko have always been 'up there' in timekeeping quality and excellent workmanship. I cannot recommend this fine Seiko enough.
