Little Bee

This book is cute. We have read it a few times already. There is no doubt this book will be one we kick out spring each year for a few years.

I first found this in my KG-G5 library as a children's librarian, and I'm SO excited to have my own copy, now. I love this story about how significant the little bee is, and how he's running from all these predators but in the end the biggest predator of all is running from him. It's a great message and when I read it to KG/G1 classes they always love it and also find it really funny. The book was high quality board book material and the cover had holographic bee wings which I loved too.

I like the graphics in this book and the story is easy to read. I'm not in love with there being a hunter in the book but I know that's just my personal feelings about hunting. I got this book because I have a little girl who loves bees, this book wasn't about bees, it was more about the circle of life. We still read it and my daughter likes to make the animals have funny voices.

My grandkids love this sweet book

I do not understand the high praise on this book and its ending. The story is essentially a chase or food chain. The bee gets chased by a frog that is chased by a snake etc etc until you end up with a lion chased by a hunter that is chased by a bee. Thus, the chase coming full circle and you can essentially start he book over again back with the bee on the first page. That is it. Nothing exceptional here. I also did not like the artwork of the mongoose... I just think something is off with the proportions or styling and it could have looked better. I may return for a refund.

My daughter received this book as a gift and I enjoyed the simple story so much I ordered this book for another child. I'm giving it 4 stars because the book my daughter received included glitter fabric wings for the bee on the cover which added a little extra specialness to the book, but the book purchased on Amazon did not include this 3D detail which was a slight disappointment. Cute story!

Absolutely adore this book! We call our kids little Bs so this book was a must for us. Our oldest little B (3 years old) loves it to and reads it for everyone!!

I like how new the book is and it arrived on time and in excellent condition. My daughter liked it as well. It is good for naming a fee animals. Has a funny storyline. Nice pictures and the sentences are rythmic so it is easy and fun to read.

My daughter loves this book (almost as much as Little Acorn Grows Up) but I find it to be quite boring. In the middle of the story there is mention of a mongoose. What is a mongoose anyway? I bought this book because my daughter has an unreasonable fear of bees and other bugs. It seems to have fixed that because the bee is really cute in the illustrations, I just wish there was more of a story.
