## Description

2018 is a fixed formula, non-autoclavable diet manufactured with high quality ingredients and designed to support gestation, lactation, and growth of rodents. 2018 does not contain alfalfa, thus lowering the occurrence of natural phytoestrogens. Typical isoflavone concentrations (daidzein + genistein aglycone equivalents) range from 150 to 250 mg/kg. Exclusion of alfalfa reduces chlorophyll, improving optical imaging clarity. Absence of animal protein and fish meal minimizes the presence of nitrosamines.

Review: Great Quality - I’ve been using Harlan teklad for a decade, it is high quality and reliable. I’ve ordered from this company on desertcart many times and the product always comes well sealed and packaged, with the appropriate dietary information. 2018 has been a fabulous block to add to the seed mix of my middle age and senior hamsters for many years, and is generally well accepted and even preferred when other brands are tried.
Review: Hamster loves these-great amount of protein-good for her. - I got these for my Syrian hamster after giving her subpar food for a month. I began to do some deep research on hamsters and realized her diet left much to be desired. I now give her these Teklad pellets mixed with higgens sunburst, some mealworms, dried chicken and fresh and dried fruits and veggies (and a few little snacks). The Teklad is the one that she will always pick out of her dish and I find them half chewed in her hide. She doesn’t seem to like the higgens (sans the sunflower seeds which she loves) but does love the Teklad so I am a happy hammy mom. It has a high protein count and just the right amount of everything for a healthy hamster so it’s a great choice for a pellet. It’s made for lab rats-so they give them a scientific amount to foster healthy growth to make sure they have the healthiest specimens to work with (sad but true). So I know it’s the best choice. These are individually packaged bags of food-seller buys a large quantity from Teklad and puts them in smaller bags to ship to individual customers. It does come with a print out of all the nutritional facts and the package came to me in about 4 days. Overall two thumbs up from me and from Waffles the hammy.

I would mix a few together with their science selective pellets. I previously fed my rats only Oxbow (with snacks of vegetables, fruit, and baby food throughout the day), but all of a sudden they began refusing to even touch their Oxbow so I ended up buying a wide variety of food (both locally and online) and the only hard pellet food they ate graciously was both these lab blocks and their science selective. When it came to end of life care, I would grind these lab blocks into a powder and mix it together with baby food and unflavored Pedialyte and syringe feed my fur baby. So thank you for allowing my son to pass on more at ease with a full belly. 🙏🌈🐀
