He likes to escape. Will he be able to with this platform?** A: My guy is an escape artist and he got the clear topper off first night! The wire piece clips in securely but the clear plastic top has no clips or anything to keep it on and its a very thin overlap on the bottom piece so pretty easy to move when they are determined. Nothing inside the topper at all to aid him. He’s about 20 yrs old and about 6 inch shell end to end. Gorilla brand duct tape fixed his ass from escaping, just watched him try again lol. **Q: If you put the topper on, will that just leave the other side of the tank open?** A: Yes, it will leave the other part of the tank open. If you're having trouble with an escape artist, you should either put less water in the tank or move objects that allow the turtle to climb over the edge. **Q: how big your turtle has to be,mine is 7 years old** A: 7 is a good age, however you will want to measure the turtle by inches, and no more than a nine inch turtle should be used for this item. Overall, it is a great product for aquatic turtles!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easily the best basking platform i've bought *by C***N on February 4, 2026* it's expensive, but 100% worth the money. I love this thing. It's easy to clean, looks great, and holds heat and humidity. I'm not worried about my turtle escaping out of this, and he's tried. It's sturdy and fits on top of a 40 Gal breeder if you use the extension brackets. My turtle loves sleeping on the platform beneath it. I only wish the ramp was much longer and the section for the lamps was much larger. It will fit his UVB and heat, but not very well. So far the heat lamp has discolored the clear plastic, but not melted it, despite being very close to the edge. So far he has not tipped it over, but when he claws at the sides trying to climb them, the weight of his plastron falling has knocked off his lamps.
